Kleine Coffee Brand Identity

Driven by the mission ‘to make great coffee that people will love’, Kleine approached us to articulate their brand identity across packaging, art direction and website design.

Kleine’s access to special harvests from Indonesia's single estates and small farmer communities, roasted with care in Melbourne, presented a compelling narrative, inspiring us to explore concepts of provenance, authenticity, quality and care.

The name Kleine, meaning ‘little’ in Dutch, speaks to the legacy of coffee growing in Indonesia, since seedlings were introduced by Dutch traders in the seventeenth century.

Our brand marque is a playful reference to Indonesia’s rich tapestries and batik techniques. Geometric letterforms are skilfully intertwined, creating a patterned landscape and bold brand presence, while an earthy colour palette reflects the individual flavour notes of Kleine’s single origin beans and blends.
